Hello All! I hope everyone had an awesome holiday break, and are all fueled up for another year of PLT in Ohio! We will begin 2012 with a PreK-8 workshop being held on January 18th at the Wayne National Forest Headquarters in Nelsonville. The workshop is from 9am-3pm and cost $22 to attend. Hello All!
Just wanted to update everyone on a new workshop opportunity December 3rd at the Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District office in Columbus. The workshop will cover the secondary modules Focus on Forests, Municipal Solid Waste, Focus on Risk, and Places we Live. This is a great workshop if you educate high school aged students! There will be a workshop held October 15th at the University of Findlay. The workshop will focus on the PreK-8 guide, along with the brand new Focus on Forests module. Anyone interested in attending should contact Gwynne Rife at rife@findlay.edu or 419-434-4724.
PLT Ohio Facilitators,
Our annual PLT Advanced Workshop and Awards Ceremony will be taking place this year on October 8th at the Paul Bunyan Show at the Guernsey County Fairgrounds! The program lasts from 10am-1pm and will showcase our newest module Focus On Forests (2011), along with other important PLT updates, and an special awards recognition. A BBQ lunch will be provided to all that attend. The cost for the PLT event is $10 which includes lunch and the new Focus on Forests module. All youth (17 or under) will get into the PLT event for free, but must register, and special youth activities will be provided for them during the event. Any other family or friends can attend the PLT event also, but must also register along with you. Admission to the Paul Bunyan Show is still required for all participants, and a link for a $5 special-priced "PLT" PBS entry ticket can be obtained after registration with us.
